Use it when a split-second decision should become architecture. The audience seems to occupy a viewpoint no observer inside the event could have.
Debris, rain, and coat tails hang so we can walk around them. The path is one move, usually an arc.
It is the wrong tool for a dinner scene, a lyric walk, or a simple impact study from a locked camera. If the camera is locked, you wanted frozen in motion or a freeze.
